The following pages detail the work of the Oakridge Bible Chapel Adult Mission Team in Nicaragua from February 16th to the 24th 2008. This year our main objective is funding the cost and replacing the roof on the main house. This is a big job because of the many contours in the roof. Heavy rains during Hurricane Erika revealed many leaks. When they went to fix them, they found the roofing brittle and every attempt to repair caused more leaks. Internal damage from the leaks also needs to be addressed. We will also try and finish the interior walls and electrical work for the Medical Centre. There are four other construction projects on the property and one at a new retreat center on the Pacific Ocean. There are also unfinished aspects to the warehouse we worked on last year. Perhaps all will get to help in the feeding programs to the community - “we always need more hands”. Donna has a ministry at the women’s prison, so some of the women can be thinking about going with her one day. Things are rough for them and she brings them basic necessities and tries to give them some encouragement and hope.
