Well a lot was happening here today!

The
kids were allowed to come and pick out a couple of clothing items and then the
mothers came in and took some things too. It was interesting to see them all
holding things up to see if they might be a good fit.
One
little boy picked out a reversible jacket that was at least two sizes too small
but you couldn’t convince him of that. Either it was the novelty of the
reversibility or it was his favourite team, but he wasn’t going to give it up.
Maybe it’s a good thing the mothers have a chance to pick up the right sizes.
The
one laptop that was giving us a challenge lost its fight – I won! It was
stubborn but it finally works reliably. A big thanks to Mark Greening who has
answered our questions via email so promptly. Even though he’s not here in
Nicaragua he has been a big part of the trip by supplying parts and expert
knowledge to the team.
The House:
Things
have taken a sudden leap forward – as we expected! So far you haven’t seen
too much actually rising out of the ground but today around 3:00 the call went
around “The walls are ready to go up!” Everybody scurried over to the site
and the walls were picked up off the ground and carried into position. They have
been tied into place with re-bar and very soon a coat of concrete will finish
the job.

Larry
says the house will be so strong that he could park his truck on the roof and it
wouldn’t cave in. I think I’ll have to see how the ceiling goes in before
I’d take that bet.
The
computer room is slowly getting painted. We have to work around the kids
schedule and that makes it a challenge. Thanks to Paul Breen & Kim
Ackerblade for their efforts.

To
the left are Gail McGregor and Muriel Arsenault examining their handy-work.
Actually, they are posing for a picture after being satisfied with their job.
The two little girls on the right were amusing themselves as their mother was
picking out clothing for them.
